Collaboration
Drawing on its long-standing partnership with Paris-based French watch brand BALTIC, H°M’S WatchStore is proud to introduce its second collaborative timepiece, the Prismic Japan Limited Edition Porcelain Dial, available exclusively in Japan.
Following the strong response to the sporty design of the first collaboration, this second edition takes a distinctly different direction. At its heart is the Prismic, a refined model characterized by its classic dress-watch aesthetic.
Developed through close collaboration with BALTIC, the project was conceived around the idea of incorporating elements of traditional Japanese craftsmanship into the dial. The result is a specially crafted porcelain dial created exclusively for this edition.
Porcelain is primarily made from finely ground porcelain stone and fired at temperatures exceeding 1,300°C. During the firing process, the raw materials fuse together, transforming into a smooth, beautifully finished surface with a glass-like hardness and non-porous quality.
The distinctive lustrous sheen of porcelain brings an elegant brilliance to the classical design of the Prismic, further enhancing its refined character as a dress watch.
Japanese-Inspired Details, Down to the Minute Track
The dial incorporates a number of details created specifically for this Japan-exclusive edition. Kanji characters are used along the minute track, adding a distinctly Japanese character to the otherwise understated design.
A crosshair motif at the center of the dial evokes the look of vintage watches from the 1950s and 1960s, lending the timepiece a subtle retro and classical feel.
The hour markers feature original wedge-shaped indices designed exclusively for this model. Their sharp, precise silhouettes bring definition to the dial, creating a striking contrast with the smooth, lustrous surface unique to porcelain.
Two Porcelain Dials, Exclusive to Japan
The Prismic Japan Limited Edition Porcelain Dial is available in two colors: White and Navy.
The White Porcelain edition pairs a pure white dial with a blue crosshair and minute track, creating a crisp and refined appearance. The Navy Porcelain edition features a deep navy dial accented by a white crosshair and minute track, giving the watch a calm, sophisticated sense of depth.
Both versions have been created exclusively for the Japanese market, making them special editions available only in Japan.
Bringing together BALTIC’s appreciation for French vintage watchmaking and the spirit of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, the Prismic Japan Limited Edition Porcelain Dial is a distinctive expression of both cultures.
The beautiful, lustrous texture of the porcelain dial is complemented by a Kanji minute track and carefully considered classical details, resulting in a truly distinctive timepiece created exclusively for Japan.
BALTIC
Baltic was launched in 2017 YEAR by Etienne Malec, whose father was a watch collector, as a project on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. Immediately after the project started, the project sold 1,300 pieces shortly after launch, and the brand went on to release a limited run of 200 watches the following YEAR, which sold out in just 45 minutes.
Baltic's collection is characterized by its inspiration from the vintage collection left behind by Malec's father.
